# Admin console overview

Use the Admin Console to manage all of your administrative functions in one place.

To access the Admin Console as a realm admin:

1. Go to the **My Apps** page.
2. Select **Quickbase Admin** > **Manage the Realm**.

To access the Admin Console as an account admin:

1. Go to the **My Apps** page.
2. Select **Manage Billing Account** from the top-right menu.

> Based on your access level as an account or realm admin, different links display in the navigation bar. For example, if you are an account admin but not a realm admin, the Account summary link displays but the Encryption or Realm summary links do not display.

## Realm vs account

A [realm](/v1/docs/realm-overview) is a logically segregated domain associated with an account. Each account can contain multiple apps, but pipelines are on a realm-level.

One company can have multiple realms. In special circumstances, a realm may contain multiple accounts. Having multiple accounts in a single realm is not suggested. Realms set up this way have additional product limitations.

## Admin Console pages

In the Admin Console, admins have access to the different pages depending on their role.

### Realm admins

Realm admins have the ability to manage the entire realm—including all accounts, users, security settings, and platform-level configurations. Pages available to them in the Admin Console include:

- [**Realm summary**](/v1/docs/realm-overview): View realm information such as basic properties, account(s), and a list of realm admins.
- [**Audit logs**](/v1/docs/audit-logs): View and download audit logs to gain greater visibility into how users access their apps.
- [**Platform analytics**](/v1/docs/platform-analytics): View how your account is using Quickbase by looking at summaries of key contractual and usage metrics, with the ability to drill down to investigate trends.
- [**UI**](/v1/docs/brand-and-customize-a-realms-appearance): Customize and brand the user interface for all your apps with a custom header, footer, and sign-in message.
- [**AI Controls**](/v1/docs/manage-ai-controls-help-article): Decide which AI features are available across the entire realm. Account admins can use the Permissions page to decide which users can access those features.
- [**User tokens**](/v1/docs/user-tokens): View, search, and export a list of all user tokens.

### Account admins

Account admins have the ability to manage their specific account—including apps, users, groups, permissions, and account-level settings. Pages available to them in the Admin Console include:

- [**Account summary**](/v1/docs/account-summary): View and edit your account, service plan, realm, and company information.
- [**Platform analytics**](/v1/docs/platform-analytics): View how your account is using Quickbase by looking at summaries of key contractual and usage metrics, with the ability to drill down to investigate trends.
- [**Apps**](/v1/docs/apps): View a list of apps in your account, as well as related app information (like users, size, manager, date created, and recent activity).
- [**Permissions**](/v1/docs/set-permissions-for-billing-account-admins): View and manage account-level permissions, including the ability to create apps. The default is to allow anyone to create apps. However, you can select **Specify who can create applications** to limit access to specific employees.
- [**AI Controls**](/v1/docs/manage-ai-controls-help-article): View which AI features are available for your realm (set by the realm admin). Then, use the Permissions page to decide which users can access those features.
