# Change a user's access permissions

> *Access to this feature can change based on your Quickbase plan. Learn more about feature availability and plans in*[*Quickbase capabilities*](/v1/docs/quickbase-capabilities)*.*

There are several ways to change a user's access permissions:

- [Assign the user a different role](/v1/docs/change-the-role-assigned-to-a-user).
- [Modify the permissions of the role](/v1/docs/change-the-properties-of-a-role) you have assigned the user.

> [!NOTE]
> Note: If you do this, you change the access permissions of all users to whom you have assigned this role.
- [Create a new role](/v1/docs/create-a-new-role) and assign it to the user.

For more information about permission settings, see [roles and permissions](/v1/docs/working-with-roles).
