# Change your security question

Your security question provides an extra layer of security whenever you need to [reset your password](/v1/docs/forgot-your-password). When that happens, you will be asked to provide the answer to your security question. You can change your security question or answer at any time after you [sign in](/v1/docs/sign-in-to-quickbase) to Quickbase.

> [!NOTE]
> Note: If you sign in using your company's corporate authentication system, you will not have a security question.

To change your security question or answer:

1. Select the user menu on the global bar, then select **Profile**.
2. In the My User Information section, select **Change security question & answer**. The **Change security question/answer** dialog appears.

> [!NOTE]
> Note: If the account you're accessing does not require the answer to your security question during password reset, this option will not appear.
3. Choose a new security question, enter an answer, then re-type the answer to confirm.

Answers to security questions are not case-sensitive. For example, if your answer is "Boston, MA", then "boston, ma" will match.
4. Enter your password.
5. Select **Save changes**.
