# Copy a role

To copy a role:

1. Select **App settings** from the sidebar, select **Roles**, then select the role you want to see.
2. Locate the role you want to duplicate.
3. To copy the role, select its Copy icon (![Copy icon](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/4572874197268.png)). This icon is located in the rightmost column of the roles list. Quickbase creates a copy underneath the original, with the name "Copy of *--role name--*."
4. To change the name of the copied role, select the name, then select the Properties tab and enter a new name in the Name box. When you're finished making changes to the new role, select Save.
