# Deny users access to a realm

Instead of deleting users from Quickbase, admins can deny users access. That is, admins can deny access an entire [realm](/v1/docs/realm-overview), including all apps within the realm, but not delete users.

> *Access to this feature can change based on your Quickbase plan. Learn more about feature availability and plans in*[*Quickbase capabilities*](/v1/docs/quickbase-capabilities)*.*

To deny a user access to your realm:

1. On the My Apps page, select **Quickbase Admin** > **Manage the realm**.
2. Select **Users** to navigate to the Users page in the admin console. You will see a list of all users who can access the realm and their access status.
3. Locate the user whose access you want to deny.

Tip: You can search for users by first name, last name, user name, and email address. You can filter the list based on user status and can sort the list by any column by selecting the column header.
4. Select the check box next to the user(s) you want to deny access.
5. Select **Deny** above the user table. You will see a confirmation window asking if you want to deny the user.
6. If you would like to deny the user and also remove their name from user groups, select **Deny & remove from user group**. If you would like to deny users but keep their names in groups they have been added to, select **Deny**.
  - If you do not remove the user from groups, they will not have access to the realm, but their name will still appear in the group list.
