# Error handling for custom emails

This article covers error types for [custom emails](/v1/docs/create-custom-emails), describes how Quickbase handles each kind of error, and gives tips for troubleshooting custom emails.

## Types of errors and how they are handled

| Type of error | Error handling |
| --- | --- |
| Email fails to send | Quickbase sends an error email to the app manager and notification owner |
| File attachments exceed the limit | Quickbase does not send attachments that exceed the limit |
| Email content, like a report or form, missing | Quickbase includes an error message directly in the email |

## Troubleshooting custom emails

### Emails that failed to send

To troubleshoot why an email failed to send, contact [**Quickbase Support**](https://www.quickbase.com/support). In the support case, be sure to include the email ID provided in the error email sent to the app manager and notification owner.

### Other email issues

If you need help understanding why an email that is sent is missing content, or any other issue with the email, contact [**Quickbase Support**](https://www.quickbase.com/support).

In the support case, include the `x-quickbase-notify-id` found in the email header.

> The email ID **must**come from the original email. If you have someone forward you an email with an issue, the ID won't be there.
