# Home page Search widgets

Search widgets allow you to search your app's tables right from the app Home page.

## Create a Search widget

To add a Search widget to the app Home page, [edit the app Home page](/v1/docs/editing-pages). Drag the Search widget from the Widget Gallery to your desired location.

The Settings dialog will open automatically.

## Configure the Search widget

Use the **Search for** dropdown to select the table you wish to search.

You can choose to search all searchable fields (the default) or select the fields to search. Select **Choose fields** to open the Choose Fields dialog.

## Search reports

You can also search table reports. When you set up a search widget, in the Search in section, select **A report** and select the report you want users to search.

## Customize the search field

You can change the prompt for a Search widget field by hovering over it and selecting the **Edit** icon.

Select **Save** in the Page bar to save your changes.
