# Mention users in rich text fields

App admins can [enable mentions](/v1/docs/rich-text-field-properties) in rich text fields and set up [custom emails](/v1/docs/add-email-recipients-to-custom-emails) to facilitate collaboration inside a Quickbase app.

If this has been enabled for your app, here is how to mention other users:

1. Type the @ symbol in a rich text field.
  - Rich text fields are fields where you can add formatting, like bolded or colored text, bullets, and numbering.

3. Save the record.
