# Prevent Quickbase from searching tables

Imagine that you create an application and you include a special table to track your own application management tasks. No other staff members need to see data in this table. However, when your colleagues use the Quick Find feature to search for application information, records from your private administration table appear, confusing everyone.

There's a solution. As an application manager, you can prevent Quickbase from searching specific tables in an application when using Quick Find. (If your app only has one table, you can't use this feature.)

> [!NOTE]
> Note: This feature prevents a [Quick Find](/v1/docs/search-your-app) operation from searching a table, but if a user conducts an [advanced search](/v1/docs/use-advanced-search) or creates a [report](/v1/docs/using-reports-and-charts), Quickbase lets the user select and search the table.

## Prevent Quickbase from searching a specific table

1. Open the table you want to customize from the sidebar, select **Settings** in the table card on the page bar, then select **Advanced settings**.
2. Select **Advanced Table Settings** to expand the section, if necessary.
3. Clear the **Include this table in global searches** checkbox.
4. Select **Save**.

> [!NOTE]
> Note: If you really want to hide your table, you can also [remove the table's name from the Table bar](/v1/docs/hide-tables-from-the-sidebar).
