# Run your pipeline

After you create a pipeline, you can activate, schedule, or run it. This article explains how to activate and run your pipeline.

## Turn a pipeline on or off

Use the toggle to control whether your pipeline runs.

- On—The pipeline runs when triggered
- Off—The pipeline does not start new runs

When a pipeline is turned off, it stops starting new runs. Runs that have not yet completed are paused.

If the pipeline is turned back on, queued runs continue processing automatically. Runs that were interrupted while actively running do not resume.

You can turn a pipeline on or off from:

- The **My pipelines** view, using the **On / Off** toggle ![On/Off toggle in the My pipelines view](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/33091231658388.png)
- The pipeline designer, using the **On / Off** toggle ![On/Off toggle in the pipeline designer](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/33091231662612.png)

## Run your pipeline

When pipelines start with an action step, the **Run** button displays. Use the **Run** button to run your pipeline.

When pipelines start with a trigger step, the pipeline runs automatically when the conditions of that trigger are met. For example, when a Quickbase record is created. Use the **Sync** button to check the conditions. Learn more about [Sync](/v1/docs/sync).

Schedule pipelines that don't contain a trigger step. Your scheduled pipeline runs at the intervals you choose. Learn more about [scheduling pipelines](/v1/docs/scheduling-pipelines).
