# Set up a Quickbase integration in FastField

This article explains how to create and use a Quickbase integration in FastField with a user token.

This method is an alternative to fully linking your FastField account to your Quickbase realm in the Quickbase Admin Console. It uses a Quickbase [user token](/v1/docs/user-tokens) to connect FastField to your Quickbase realm.

We recommend this setup if you want to connect with Quickbase, without using Quickbase single sign-on (SSO).

After you set up a Quickbase integration in FastField, you can do things like:

- [Import a Quickbase app's schema to a FastField form](/v1/docs/create-a-fastfield-form-from-a-quickbase-table)
- [Send FastField responses to Quickbase](/v1/docs/send-fastfield-responses-to-quickbase-in-a-global-workflow)
- [Create a data table](/v1/docs/use-data-tables-in-fastfield) in FastField connected to a Quickbase table

## Find your Quickbase realm URL and user token

To set up a Quickbase integration in FastField, you'll need your Quickbase realm URL and the user token for the app you want to connect.

### Realm URL

A realm is a domain within your Quickbase account. Your realm URL is your realm name + *.quickbase.com* (for example: *builderprogram-jdoe.quickbase.com*).

To locate your realm URL, log in to your realm in your Quickbase account. Your realm URL is in the address bar of your browser.

### User token

To find your user token or to generate a new one:

1. Go to Quickbase and select your Quickbase user name in the top-right corner.
2. Select **Profile**. ![Quickbase user menu dropdown showing the Profile option](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/32135890943764.png)
3. Go to **Manage User Tokens** and select **Manage my user tokens for...**
4. Find an existing user token or generate a new user token for the app you want to connect to in FastField. ![Quickbase user tokens page showing existing tokens and the option to generate a new one](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/32135890945940.png)

From here, use this user token to set up an integration in FastField.

## Set up a new integration

1. In FastField, expand the **Workflow** menu, and then select **Integrations**.
2. Select the **+** **New Integration** button.
3. In the **Choose an integration** field, select **Quickbase***.*
4. Enter a name, Realm URL, and User Token. Then select **Add**. This saves the integration and makes it available to add to things like workflows.

Besides the Integrations page, there are other areas in FastField where you can set up a Quickbase integration:

- When creating a data table
- When importing a Quickbase table to create a new form
- When creating a Global Workflow that connects to Quickbase

> [!NOTE]
> Note
>
> Tokens for any user work for this integration, including service accounts. Service accounts have the benefit of not being tied to a specific user. If you have a personnel change, these tokens don't need resetting.

## Give other FastField admins and builders permission to the integration

By default, a new Quickbase integration is only accessible by the admin or builder who created it. The person who creates the integration can share it with other FastField admins and builders. People with access to the integration can connect forms, data tables, and workflow actions to Quickbase.

To give permission to specific admins and builders in your FastField account:

1. In FastField, expand the **Workflow** menu, and then select **Integrations**.
2. Edit an existing Quickbase integration (**Actions** > **Edit**) or create a new integration (**+** **New Integration**).
3. In the Permissions section, select **Manage permissions**. ![FastField Quickbase integration showing the Manage permissions section](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/32135890947476.png)
4. Select **Add user**to add a user to your list of permitted users. You can remove or add a user to this list at any time.
5. Save your changes.
