# Sharing apps publicly

> *Access to this feature can change based on your Quickbase plan. Learn more about feature availability and plans in*[*Quickbase capabilities*](/v1/docs/quickbase-capabilities)*.*

In limited circumstances, you may need to share your app publicly with users who do not have a Quickbase account. To do this, add a special group to your app called **Everyone on the Internet (EOTI)**. Learn more about EOTI in [Sharing Quickbase apps with others](/v1/docs/share-quickbase-apps-with-other-people).

This article covers how to share your apps publicly using the EOTI group.

## Requirements

Before sharing your app publicly:

- Account admins must allow apps in their account to be open for general Internet access
- Make sure you are in accordance with Quickbase's [Acceptable Use Policy](https://www.quickbase.com/acceptable-use-policy) and that you are not using it in an [unacceptable way](/v1/docs/acceptable-use-of-the-everyone-on-the-internet-eoti-group)
- Consider how you will [mitigate the risks of EOTI](/v1/docs/mitigating-risks-of-sharing-apps-publicly)

## How to share your app publicly

1. Choose **Users** from the sidebar.
2. Select **+ Share app with new user**.
3. Select the address book icon.
4. Choose **Groups** from the dropdown.
5. From the list of groups, choose **Everyone on the Internet**.

Note: If you do not see this choice, your Account admin has turned off the ability to open an app to everyone on the Internet
6. Select **OK**. The group appears in the **Share With a New User** dialog.
7. Select **Add**.
8. To test access, copy the URL for your app, then sign out of Quickbase, or use a different browser where you have not signed in to Quickbase. Paste the app URL into the browser, and you should see the app without having to sign in.

## Assign a role to the EOTI group

The Everyone on the Internet group is like any other user entity in Quickbase. You can [create a role](/v1/docs/working-with-roles) for Everyone on the Internet or assign this group an existing role. Learn more about using permissions and roles to [mitigate risks of EOTI](/v1/docs/mitigating-risks-of-sharing-apps-publicly).

## Revoke access for the EOTI group

1. Return to the **Manage Users** page.
2. Select the **Everyone on the Internet** checkbox.
3. Select **Remove User** at the top of the table, then select **Remove** to confirm.

## Settings affecting the EOTI group

- **IP filtering.** If your app or realm is set to [limit access by IP](/v1/docs/ip-policies), this setting will also affect access to the Everyone on the Internet group. Read how using IP filtering can help [mitigate risk](/v1/docs/mitigating-risks-of-sharing-apps-publicly) when using EOTI.
- **Permissions**. Users in the Everyone on the Internet group who do not have a Quickbase username cannot access the admin-level permissions to "manage all users and share the app" or "edit app structure and permissions".
