# Manage your user account

When you sign up to use Quickbase, you create a user account. Each user is in charge of their own user account.

You can access any app that a billing account grants you permission to use. Billing accounts pay for users who access their apps. Learn more about [how accounts are billed](/v1/docs/welcome-to-quickbase).

Quickbase uses your email address to identify you and determine which apps and data you can access. You can have multiple user profiles connected to a single user account. Learn more about [managing multiple user accounts](/v1/docs/manage-multiple-user-accounts).

## Change your email address

You can change the email address associated with your account. When you change your email address, Quickbase sends a confirmation message to the new address. Select the link in that email to verify your new address.

> [!WARNING]
> Important
>
> Do not create a new account for your new email address. If you create a separate user account under a new email address, you won't have access to the same apps.

If your company's email domain changes, for example, from *@example.com* to *@acme.com*, each user must update their own email address once the new address is active.

To update your email, edit your user preferences.

> [!NOTE]
> Note
>
> If you make a typo when entering your new email address and can't sign in to Quickbase, contact [Quickbase Support](/v1/docs/get-help-from-quickbase-technical-support) for help.
