# What is the field list?

The field list displays every field that's in a Quickbase table and gives you options for setting field properties. On this tab, you can:

> Note: Reporting defaults such as which columns are displayed, column order, and sorting is now set on the [default report settings](/v1/docs/setting-reporting-defaults) page, and is no longer affected by the order of fields in the Fields list.
