This article covers how memory fields work and how to turn one on in the Form Builder. ## How memory fields work Some answers rarely change between submissions. A technician enters the same site name, truck number, or supervisor on every daily form. When you make a field a memory field, the app saves its value when the user submits the form. The next time the user starts that form, the field is already filled in. The user can keep the value or change it. For example: - **Daily logs:** A driver's vehicle number carries over from one day's checklist to the next Memory fields work on each device separately. If a user switches to another device, the field starts empty there until they submit the form on that device. > [!NOTE] > Note > > A memory field always fills in the most recently submitted value. To give every user the same starting value on every device, use a default value instead. ## Supported field types You can turn on Memory Field for these field types: - Text - Numeric - Formatted Numeric - Option List - List - Global List - Lookup List For other field types, the setting is grayed out. ## Turn on a memory field 1.
