# Upload a Thumbnail to Your Form

A thumbnail is the image or color that represents a form in the portal's forms list. This article covers how to set a thumbnail from the Forms page or from the Form Builder.

## How thumbnails work

Thumbnails appear on the form tiles when you view the Forms page in the grid layout. They help you organize forms and find them faster. For example, a vehicle inspection form could show a truck, and a work order form could show a toolbox. You can also color-code forms by category.

You can set a thumbnail in 2 places:

- **The Forms page:** Choose a free image, a color, or your own image. The change applies right away.
- **The Form Builder:** Upload your own image. It's saved with the form when you save it.

> Note
> 
> An image you upload in the Form Builder takes priority. Once a form has one, the Forms page doesn't offer the image icon for that form.

## Set a thumbnail from the Forms page

1. In the portal, go to **Forms** > **My Forms**.
2. Select the grid layout icon.
3. Point to a form tile, then select the image icon on the tile.

1. In the Form Thumbnail panel, choose one of these options:

- **Free Images:** Search free photos from Unsplash and select one
- **Colors:** Select a color
- **Upload Image:** Choose an image from your computer

1. Select **Close**.

To remove the thumbnail, open the panel again and select **Reset**.

## Set a thumbnail in the Form Builder

1. Open your form in the Form Builder. Learn more about how to [edit an existing form](/fastfield/docs/en/form-builder-edit-an-existing-form).
2. In the toolbar, select **Settings**, then select **Form Thumbnail**.

1. Select **Upload Image**, then choose an image.

1. Select **Save Draft** or **Publish** to save the form with its new thumbnail.

To replace the image, select **Change Image**. To remove it, select **Remove**.
