This article covers how to set up a web form, share its link and QR code, and choose its options. ## How web forms work When you turn on public submissions for a form, FastField creates a public link and a QR code for it. Anyone with the link can open the form in a browser and submit it. Their submissions come back to FastField like any other submission. Web forms work well for public surveys, feedback, and requests from customers or contractors who aren't users in your account. > [!NOTE] > Note > > Web forms are part of the External Forms add-on. An account admin turns it on from the billing page in the portal. Submissions from web forms can carry an extra cost. Select **Enable Webforms**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/webform-01-settings-enable-webforms.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T06%3A10%3A11Z&se=2026-10-30T07%3A10%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=RYDK4aqMbPiPd1OFnbxsiLmbAcKUTV0duwZ0uvN8MWQ%3D) 1. In Web Forms Settings, turn on **Allow public submissions**. ![Web Forms Settings with the Allow public submissions toggle](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/webform-02-allow-public-submissions.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T06%3A10%3A11Z&se=2026-10-30T07%3A10%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=RYDK4aqMbPiPd1OFnbxsiLmbAcKUTV0duwZ0uvN8MWQ%3D) 1. Set the options you need. Learn more in [Set web form options](/fastfield/docs/form-builder-publish-web-forms-and-generate-qr-codes#set-web-form-options). 2. Select **Save Draft** or **Publish** to save the web form settings. > [!NOTE] > Tip > > Publish your form before you share it, so people outside your team see the finished version. ## Set web form options After you turn on public submissions, more options appear. ![Web Forms Settings with the options for in-progress submissions, navigation, and expiration](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/webform-03-web-form-settings.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T06%3A10%3A11Z&se=2026-10-30T07%3A10%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=RYDK4aqMbPiPd1OFnbxsiLmbAcKUTV0duwZ0uvN8MWQ%3D) | Setting | What it does | | --- | --- | | Allow saving In Progress public submissions | Lets people save a partly filled form in their browser and finish it later | | Time in seconds to auto navigate on completion | How long to wait after someone submits before opening another web page. Leave it at 0 to stay on the form | | Navigation target on completion | The web address to open after someone submits. Available when the time is more than 0 | | Expiration Date | The date and time the web form stops accepting submissions. Select **Clear** to remove it | > [!NOTE] > Note > > Saved in-progress submissions are stored in the browser. They're lost if the person clears their browser data or blocks cookies. ## Share the link or QR code The public link and QR code appear in Web Forms Settings after you turn on public submissions. ![The Anonymous (Public) URL with its Copy button, and the Anonymous (Public) QR Code](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/webform-04-public-url-qr.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T06%3A10%3A11Z&se=2026-10-30T07%3A10%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=RYDK4aqMbPiPd1OFnbxsiLmbAcKUTV0duwZ0uvN8MWQ%3D) - **Share the link:** Next to Anonymous (Public) URL, select **Copy**. People scan it with their phone camera to open the web form > [!NOTE] > Note > > If the form hasn't been saved yet, the link and QR code don't exist. Select **Save Draft** first. To put the form on your own website instead, learn how to [embed your form](/fastfield/docs/en/form-builder-how-to-embed-your-form). ## Share a form right after you publish it The first time you publish a form, the Form Builder shows the ways people can fill it out. ![The Your form is published dialog with Fill it out in the app, Web app, Share a link, and Embed on site](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/webform-05-published-share.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T06%3A10%3A11Z&se=2026-10-30T07%3A10%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=RYDK4aqMbPiPd1OFnbxsiLmbAcKUTV0duwZ0uvN8MWQ%3D) | Option | Who it's for | | --- | --- | | Fill it out in the app | Your team.
