By default, the value of a list will be the same as the name you entered. However, there may be times when you want to have the name and value be different. For example, users could select the name of a piece of equipment from a list on the form (e.g., *Wrench*), while the value that appears on the report would be the tool's serial number (e.g., *W123*). ![Example of Name and Value columns in a list showing different display and report values](https://cdn.document360.io/dd260e4e-10bb-4b66-8fb3-5504c272b904/Images/Documentation/14349139109645?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T07%3A23%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T08%3A23%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=s3gSIWNLEB871XU2ndxf%2FuRFCWppFZZrLA7wKfK4dIM%3D) ## How to change the value in a list To change a value in the list selector: 1.
