# What is Active Insight Monitoring? (AIM)

## AIM Alerts

FastField AIM actively monitors and analyzes your collected data in realtime and notifies you when significant events trigger and identify relevant trends. Configure AIM Alerts to be sent in realtime or on a scheduled basis.

For example, you can monitor for spikes in reported safety issues or inspection anomalies instantaneously or receive a weekly email identifying the top-performing divisions in your company.

FastField AIM empowers you to flexibly define and monitor nearly any Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that's important to your business!

## Getting started

To get started with Active Insight Monitoring, first set up a KPI. Once defined, your KPIs are evaluated by your own rules to alert you when some predefined threshold, target, or goal is met. You will need to create at least one KPI to set up AIM alerts.

Alerts can be sent via email, push notifications, or custom web-hooks. Once you've set up your AIM alerts, we'll take care of the rest! FastField AIM continually aggregates and analyzes your data and notifies when something important is found.
