Use these steps to prepare an Egnyte account for Quickbase Extensions and connect it in the installation wizard.
Before you start
An Egnyte account, and your Egnyte domain—the first part of your Egnyte web address. For example, if you sign in at yourcompany.egnyte.com, your domain is yourcompany.
The ability to sign in to that Egnyte account during setup—or the ability to send a link to the person who can.
Step 1: Create a folder
In Egnyte, create the folder you want extension files stored in, and note its name. The Egnyte user who authorizes access in Step 2 must be able to add, edit, and delete files in this folder.
Step 2: Connect in the installation wizard
When you set up an extension and choose Egnyte, the wizard shows the Egnyte Account Setup step. The first time:
In Egnyte Domain (required), enter your domain—for example, yourcompany. Do this first: the Generate Refresh Token link is built from the domain you type here.
In Egnyte Folder (required), enter the folder from Step 1. This becomes your default folder.
Click Generate Refresh Token. An Egnyte sign-in page opens—sign in and allow access. This gives the extensions permission to upload and manage files in your Egnyte account.
Continue. The wizard verifies the access token before moving on. If you skip the token, you see You must generate a Refresh Token using the Generate Refresh Token button before proceeding. If Egnyte Folder is empty, you see You must enter a folder.
Note
If someone else has the Egnyte sign-in details, enter the domain first, then right-click Generate Refresh Token, copy the link, and send it to them. Once they complete the sign-in, continue the wizard.
Once your Egnyte details are saved, later setups don't ask for a token and only show an optional Override Folder. Enter a different folder there to use it for that setup only, or leave it blank to use your default folder.
Note
To change saved Egnyte details—for example, to connect a different Egnyte domain—submit a technical support case.
