Attachments are optional. If you don't need any, select **SAVE AND NEXT** to go on to the **Test Configuration** tab. See [Create or edit a configuration](/quickbase-extensions/docs/create-or-edit-a-configuration). The tab has two panels: - **Generic Attachments** (left): files you upload once, which are attached to every email. - **Attachments from the table(s)/S3** (right): files that Courier finds for each record, in Quickbase file attachment fields or in Amazon S3. For how Courier picks, orders, and names attachments when it sends, see [Include attachments with Courier](/quickbase-extensions/docs/courier-add-attachments). ## Generic attachments 1. Drag a file onto *Drag a file here or browse to upload.*, or select **browse** to choose it. You can add up to 5 files. 2. Select **SAVE AND NEXT**. The files are uploaded when you save. Every email the configuration sends includes these files, after any files from the record. To remove an uploaded file, select its delete icon and confirm *Do you want to delete file*. After you remove a file, check the list to make sure the right file is gone. ## Attachments from the table(s)/S3 Each attachment row tells Courier where to find files for each record. Select **Add more..** to add a row. You can have up to 5 rows. | Setting | Required | What it does | | --- | --- | --- | | **Attach files from** | Yes | **File attachment field(s)** for files stored in Quickbase, or **Amazon S3** for files stored in your Amazon S3 bucket. | | **Attachment order** | No | 1–10. The order in which this row's files are attached, compared with the other rows. | | **Notes** | No | A note to remind you what the row is for. | ### File attachment fields | Setting | Required | What it does | | --- | --- | --- | | **Select a table** | Yes | Where the files are: - **The configuration's table:** the files on the record being emailed. - **A related (child) table:** the files on that record's child records. - **Any other table:** the files on records that you match to the emailed record. See **Field to match** below. | | **File attachments** | Yes | One or more file attachment fields on that table. | | **Query criteria** | No | Shown for tables other than the configuration's table. A Quickbase query that narrows the records to take files from, for example `{'14'.EX.'Invoice'}`. | | **Field to match** / **Field value to match** | No | Shown for a table that isn't related to the configuration's table. Courier uses records where **Field to match** equals the emailed record's **Field value to match**. | For Scheduled and On Demand configurations, file attachment fields on the configuration's table must also be in the configuration's report. ### Amazon S3 To attach files from Amazon S3, your company's Amazon S3 credentials must be saved in the Extensions Portal. Without them, Courier can't download the files. See [Client Credentials](/quickbase-extensions/docs/client-credentials). | Setting | Required | What it does | | --- | --- | --- | | **Related table from S3** | Yes | The table whose records hold the S3 file names: the configuration's table, a related table, or another table. | | **File attachments from S3** | Yes | One or more text fields that hold the S3 file name (key) of each file. | | **Query criteria** | No | A Quickbase query that narrows the records to use. | | **S3 folder field** | No | A field that holds the folder the file is in, in your S3 bucket. | | **Field to match** / **Field value to match** | No | As for file attachment fields: matches records in another table to the emailed record. | ## Limits - Up to 5 generic files, and up to 5 attachment rows. If you go over, you see *Cannot attach more than 5 files*. - Courier also limits how many files it attaches to one email. See **View Limits** in [Create or edit a configuration](/quickbase-extensions/docs/create-or-edit-a-configuration#view-limits). - **Total Attachments Attached** at the top of the right panel counts the fields you've chosen. Use it as a guide only. ## Save 1. Select **SAVE AND NEXT** (**UPDATE AND NEXT** when editing). The configurator uploads any new generic files, saves the attachment rows, and opens the **Test Configuration** tab. 2. No message confirms the save. Go back to the **Email Attachments** tab and check that your files and rows are there. To remove an attachment row, select its delete icon and confirm *Do you want to delete attachment?* Select **BACK** to return to the **Email Message** tab.
