This article shows where to find your **Client ID**, a **table ID** (also called a DBID), a **table alias**, and a **field ID** (also called a FID). You often don't need to look anything up. The buttons and fields the [installation wizard](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/juiced-add-on-installation-wizard-overview) creates already contain the right IDs. Use this article when you change one of those formulas or build your own. ## Client ID Your Client ID identifies your company's Quickbase Extensions account. It's the letter *Q* followed by a number, for example *Q1234*. The installation wizard writes your Client ID into every button and batch arguments field it creates, usually as *clientid=Q…*. A few buttons use a different parameter name for the same value; for example, the XL Docs Configurator buttons use *qspclientid=Q…*. To find your Client ID: 1. Open a table that has a button the installation wizard created. 2. Select **Settings** from the table card in the page bar, then select **Fields**. 3. Open the button field and look at its formula. 4. Copy the *Q…* value that follows *clientid=*. The same formula also starts with your extension's server URL, created by the installation wizard. Keep that address unchanged when you edit the formula. ## Table ID (DBID) A table ID identifies one table in Quickbase. Parameters that take a table usually end in *dbid*, such as *dbid=*. - **From the address bar**—open the table and look at its address in the browser. The table ID is the part after *table/*, for example *.../nav/app/bxxxxxxxx/table/bxxxxxxxx/...*. In older addresses, it's the part after *db/*. See [URL changes in new navigation](https://help.quickbase.com/docs/url-changes-in-new-navigation). - **In a formula on the same table**—use *Dbid()* instead of typing the ID. - **In a formula that refers to another table**—use the table's alias. See [Table alias](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/find-client-id-table-ids-field-ids#table-alias). The app ID is the part of the address after *app/*. In a formula, use *AppID()* instead of typing it. ## Table alias ([_DBID_…]) A table alias is a name Quickbase gives each table for use in formulas. It starts with *_DBID_* and continues with the table name in capital letters, for example *_DBID_LINE_ITEMS*. In a formula, write it in square brackets, like a field: *[_DBID_LINE_ITEMS]*. Quickbase replaces it with the table's ID. The installation wizard uses table aliases in the formulas it creates. To find a table's alias: 1. Open the table and select **Settings** from the table card in the page bar. 2. Select **Advanced settings**. The table alias appears in capital letters at the end of the **Advanced Table Settings** section. See [Find field, record IDs, and table aliases](https://help.quickbase.com/docs/find-field-record-ids-and-table-aliases). ## Field ID (FID) A field ID is the number that identifies a field within its table. Most extension parameters that take a field use its field ID, not its name. 1. Open the table and select **Settings** from the table card in the page bar. 2. Select **Fields**. The list shows each field's **Field ID**. The Record ID# field is always field ID *3*, even if it has been renamed. See [Find field, record IDs, and table aliases](https://help.quickbase.com/docs/find-field-record-ids-and-table-aliases). ## Get help If you can't find an ID, or a button the installation wizard created is missing, submit a [technical support case](https://help.quickbase.com/docs/get-help-from-quickbase-technical-support).
