Install Exact Forms Plus

To set up Exact Forms Plus, log in to the Extensions Portal. After logging in successfully, you can start a trial for Exact Forms Plus using the panel shown in the following image.

Select the Start Trial button to open a dialog box containing the setup wizard.

On the first screen, enter the User Token assigned to the app where you want to install Exact Forms Plus, then select NEXT. To learn more about assigning and managing user tokens, see managing user tokens.

On the next screen, you can select the app where you want to install the extension. The dropdown contains the list of apps that the user token you entered on the previous screen has access to. Select the appropriate app, then select NEXT.

Next:

  1. Select the table where you want to place the button that creates the newly generated document.

  2. Choose to create either a Word document or a PDF file.

  3. Set up a test template (standard) or upload your own Word document template if you created one already. (This is where you plot the FIDs you want to generate.)

  4. Select FINISH.

If the installation was successful, you will see the screen shown in the following image.

The final screen shows you:

  • The table you selected to place the button to generate the document.

  • 4 new fields were added to that table:

    • EFP Document is a file attachment field used to store the newly generated document.

    • EFP Date is a date/time stamp field that captures the date and time each time the document is generated.

    • Generate EFP Document is the button that creates the document and streams it to the browser.

    • Generate EFP Document (PB) is the button that opens a window with a progress bar and creates the document. (The document doesn't stream to the browser in this mode.)

  • 2 new tables were also installed:

    • Document Templates

    • Document Subtables
