General information
Quickbase Extensions are services that provide Quickbase customers with functionality that is not native to the Quickbase platform.
Our extensions are divided into two categories: hosted extensions and service extensions.
All of our extensions require a Quickbase user token. We recommend you create a Quickbase user token with assigned access to the apps where you want our extensions installed, prior to meeting with us.
When using a Quickbase user token, you can provide us with a token for a Quickbase user that will always remain a user in your app.
Important
If that user is removed or denied access to your app, our extensions will no longer function properly.
Hosted extensions
Hosted extensions are designed to integrate into your Quickbase app so they can run repeatedly. They're hosted on a web server, and you execute them using a formula URL field, Formula Rich Text, or a URL link from within your Quickbase apps.
Hosted extension pricing includes a few components—a one-time setup fee that varies by extension, a base monthly hosting fee covering a set number of transactions, and possible additional charges if your account exceeds those limits. Learn more about extension pricing or submit a technical support case for more details.
All hosted extensions run on a Windows-based server managed by Quickbase Extensions.
All hosted extensions are installed and run on one or more shared servers that we manage. We do offer a dedicated hosting solution, so you can run our extensions exclusively on your own server that we manage for you, if you're interested in that option.
We reserve the right to modify hosted extension prices based on your usage rate. We don't charge a per-user rate, but if your use of our extensions creates significant congestion on our servers, we'll look at adjusting your monthly hosting charge.
Service extensions
Service extensions are designed to run in offline mode, one time against your Quickbase app. They aren't hosted, and you typically don't execute them repeatedly. They're executed by Quickbase Extensions and aren't run from within your Quickbase app.
Pricing for service extensions may vary depending on the complexity of your app. We provide a price for running one of our service extensions once we better understand your app and requirements.
