Pop-up Editor (single record)

Sometimes the Grid Editor may be too cramped for when you want to edit just a single record, or maybe you have Grid Edit disabled for all users in the Document Portal, but still want the capability to edit records in some way. For any of these use-cases where you don't want to use Grid Edit, there is a separate editing mode called the Pop-up Editor.

In order to use this, select a single row in the grid, and then right-click (or long-press on mobile) it. The context menu that pops up includes an option that says Edit Record, in the group below Download Selected, Delete Selected, Preview Selected, and Replace Selected. Keep in mind that this can only be used on a single record at a time—so it's disabled when you have multiple rows selected.

After pressing Edit Record from the context menu, the pop-up editor appears. Its title shows the Record ID# of the record, for example Edit Record #230. Below the title, you see all of the fields in your grid (except File Size), each with its label and an input, even if you cannot edit them. Uneditable fields are grayed out—for example, File Name and rich-text fields. Inputs match each field's type: text fields are text boxes, and multiple-choice fields are drop-downs.

Once you have finished your changes, you can press Save. Pressing Cancel or the X at the top right cancels the pending changes and closes the pop-up editor.
