Wizard upgrade
When you use the wizard for XL Docs, the Application information step has an Upgrade Setup checkbox. Over time, XL Docs has gained features that need new fields on your Quickbase tables—for example, the fields used by the XL Docs Configurator. If XL Docs was installed in your app in the past and you want the latest features, use Upgrade Setup: the wizard adds all the new fields to your app.
On the Application information step, in the Select a Quickbase Application list (columns Select, Application Name, and App ID), select your app.
Below the list, check Upgrade Setup. (Leave Authorize Only No Setup Required unchecked.)
Select Finish. The wizard works out what your app needs to be up to date for XL Docs and adds it.
To reach the wizard for an app that already has XL Docs, go to the Extensions Portal and select Setup on the XL Docs tile, or Authorize New App on the XL Docs page—even though you aren't authorizing a new app. Setup Table skips Application information, so it doesn't show the checkbox.
When fields were added
When the upgrade is finished, the wizard tells you what it added:
The Application <your app name> with Application ID - <your app ID> has been successfully upgraded.
The following changes were made to your application:
Selected Application: a link to your app.
Added fields to these tables: each table and the fields added to it. For example:
Document Subtable Excel: avlist, XL Docs Subtable Configurator
Document Templates: XL Docs Configurator
To close the wizard, select the X in the corner of its window.
When the app is already up to date
If no changes are needed, the wizard says so: The Application <your app name> with Application ID - <your app ID> is on the current version of XL Docs, no further action is needed from the Wizard. and You may now close this pop-up. To close the wizard, select the X in the corner of its window.
