The steps are listed on the left of the wizard window: **Authorization**, **Application Information**, **Setup Type**, **XL Docs Setup**, and **Finish**. For how the whole wizard works, see [Quickbase Extensions installation wizard overview](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/juiced-add-on-installation-wizard-overview). Under **Select the Setup Type**, choose one of two options, then select **Next** (or **Previous** to go back): - **Single Document Generation** (selected by default) - **Bulk Document Generation** Select **Single Document Generation +** or **Bulk Document Generation +** to expand a short description of each option in the wizard. The options are described below. ### Single document generation Use this to create a document from a record. The wizard installs XL Docs on your "master" table—the table whose records the documents are for—with buttons that open a new tab or pop-up and can show the document in your browser after it's created. This is typically used to create one document at a time. However, with the *msqry* parameter you can create up to 50 documents with one button click by default (your account's limit may differ); see [Generate documents for multiple records](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-multiple-records) and [Formula URL parameters](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-url-parameters). > [!NOTE] > Note > > This setup also lets you create documents automatically, with no button click—for example, when a record is saved. The wizard adds the **XL Docs Batch Processing Arguments**, **XL Docs Batch Trigger Field**, and **Execute XL Docs Batch** fields to your table; to use them, create an email notification that "triggers" document creation. See [Batch processing](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-batch-processing#single-document-generation-setup) and [Create the email notification](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-batch-processing#create-the-email-notification). ### Bulk document generation Use this to create many documents at once—more than 50. This setup creates two new tables: - **XL Docs Batch Processing**—a "control" table that drives document creation for records in another table in the app. For example, to create project documents for all projects, you start one run from a control record instead of clicking a button on each project. - **XL Docs Batch Processing Logs**—a log with the status of each document creation run. Bulk document generation also adds the [Application Token step](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/application-token-step) before **Finish**. > [!NOTE] > Note > > This setup uses the **XL Docs Batch Processing Arguments** field and an email notification to "trigger" document creation. See [Batch processing](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-batch-processing#bulk-document-generation-setup) and [Create the email notification](https://help.quickbase.com/quickbase-extensions/docs/en/xl-docs-batch-processing#create-the-email-notification).
