Quick Base mobile app session management

Note: This feature is available for early access testing. To enable for your organization, please open a support case.

Via the Policies section of the Admin Console, you can set session expiration for the Quick Base mobile app. Inactivity timeout settings also apply to mobile app users, and you can manage individual user sessions via the Users section.

The mobile app session management feature is available for the Quick Base Platformplan only.

What is a mobile app session?

A mobile app session is created when a user signs in from the Quick Base mobile app, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The mobile app session applies only to users of the mobile app and is separate from sessions the same user may start from web browsers, either desktop or mobile.

Setting session expiration for the mobile app

To set a session expiration for the mobile app, enter a value in the field Expire mobile app sessions after ____ minutes.

The value in this field determines how long mobile app sessions are active, and overrides the value set in the previous field, Expire sessions after ____ minutes.

After the specified number of minutes, a mobile app user will be required to sign in again by manually re-entering a valid password in the mobile app. Mobile app users will not be able to sign in using biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition) if the mobile app session has expired.

If the mobile app field is left blank, session expiration defaults to the value specified in the previous field. If both fields are left blank, the default is 720 minutes (12 hours).

Setting inactivity timeout

If you set a value in the field Enable timeout for inactivity, it applies to mobile app users as well as web browser users.

Biometric authentication

Biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition) can be used to authenticate under the following conditions:

Closing sessions for mobile app users

Mobile app sessions can be closed just like any other session. Closing a mobile app session requires the user to manually re-enter a valid user name and password to sign in to the mobile app.
