Reset Security Question
This topic refers to functionality that is only available to accounts on the Quick Base Platform or Quick Base Unlimited plans. If you do not see the functionality described here, either your account or realm has not been configured to show it, or your account is not on one of those plans.
Quick Base users normally contact Customer Care when they need to reset their security question. The most common scenario is that the user has chosen to reset their password, and forgotten their security question or its answer, which are required to reset the password.
Account administrators in a realm can gain the ability to perform this reset, to add their users back into Quick Base as quickly as possible. The reset password email and the Choose a New Password page both contain a link that the recipient can use to request the security question reset.
To allow account admins in your realm to reset the security question:
Contact Customer Support to request that your account admin(s) be allowed to reset the security question for users in your realm.
Register your company's email domain with Quick Base.
When you attempt to reset a user's security question, make sure that you are signed in to an account with an email address using that email domain.
Check the box on the Realm Policies page that requires the user to provide the answer to their security question when they reset their password.
To define which account admins can reset the security question:
The Permissions tab on the Manage Billing Account page contains a column (shown below) to set which account administrators can receive requests to perform a reset. Select the checkbox in that column to allow that user to receive emails requesting a reset.
Note:This column will not appear if users in the realm are not required to answer their security question during password reset. This functionality is controlled by a checkbox on the Realm Policies tab.
To reset the security question for a user who has requested it:
Before you begin, make sure that you are signed in to Quick Base using an email address with an email domain your company has registered with Quick Base.
Normally, you would get an email requesting the reset. In that case, click the Reset Security Q&A link in the email to go to the Users with Access tab.
If you get the request in some other way, access the Manage Billing Account page, then click the Users with Access tab.
Select the users you'd like to affect by selecting the checkbox at the left side of each row.
You can only reset the security question for users in an email domain your company has registered with Quick Base.
Click the Reset Q&A button above the table. (Note:This control will not appear if users are not required to answer their security question during password reset.)
The users you selected will receive an email telling them that the reset has happened. The next time they log in, they will be prompted to set a new security question and answer.
The email will also contain a link to reset their passwords, in case they need to do that as well. The link is valid for 90 minutes.
