The Intelligence Package includes a set of AI features measured by AI credits. This article explains what AI credits are and how different AI features consume them.
What is an AI credit?
An AI credit is consumed each time Quickbase AI acts on your behalf. When you use an AI feature, Quickbase AI may consume one or more AI credits to complete your request.
AI credits are the unit of usage for Intelligence Package features. The number of AI credits consumed depends on which feature you're using and what you ask it to do.
AI credits by feature
Different AI features consume AI credits in different ways.
AI Actions in Pipelines
Each pipeline step that uses AI Actions consumes 1 AI credit when the pipeline runs.
For example, if a pipeline using AI Actions runs every time a project record is updated, and 10 projects are updated, the pipeline runs 10 times. That consumes 10 AI credits.
Note
AI Actions steps don't incur integration reads. Only AI credits apply.
App summary
Each time you refresh an app summary, that consumes 1 AI credit.
Data Analyzer
Each time Data Analyzer models are refreshed or run, that consumes 1 AI credit.
Quickbase AI agent
Agent interactions consume a variable number of AI credits. The number depends on what Quickbase AI does on your behalf during the session.
During a session, Quickbase AI retains context from earlier in the conversation. This reduces the number of AI credits consumed for follow-up requests.
For example:
In a new session, asking for a chart of open tasks may consume 4 AI credits: finding the relevant tables, finding the relevant fields, querying the data, and creating the chart.
In the same session, asking for a second chart on the same data usually doesn't consume the first 3 AI credits again—Quickbase AI already has that context.
Asking the agent to create 10 fields may consume 1 AI credit or 10. This depends on whether the action can be performed as part of a bulk operation or not.
Monitor AI credit usage
Account admins can track AI credit usage from the Account Summary page in the Admin Console. The AI credits tile shows:
Credits consumed vs. your total allotment for the current billing period
Whether your account is in overage
AI credits are shared across all Intelligence Package features at the realm level. All users consuming AI features in your realm draw from the same pool.
Quickbase sends notifications when your account reaches 80% and 100% of its allotment.
Fair use
The Intelligence Package is subject to fair use. Quickbase monitors AI usage to help ensure consistent performance for all customers.
If your account exceeds its allotment, behavior depends on your plan. In some cases, AI features may be restricted. In others, usage may continue into overage and your account team will reach out to discuss options such as purchasing additional credits.
