New

New Solution APIs

Change set API

With change set API, you can now see a list of changes you are applying to a Solution with an updated API. To run the change set API you must provide a valid QBL definition, a target solution, and an authorization token. The API will execute the update and return the set of changes you executed with the update. This way you have a record of everything that is changing during a deployment between development, test, and production environments. Visit the Quickbase developer portal to use the Change set API.

From/To record Solution APIs

You can now export QBL and automatically store the QBL yaml in a file attachment field in a Quickbase app. You can run create, update and change set APIs from a record. This will pull the QBL from the file attachment field and execute it. Use this to manage your ALM setup with a Quickbase app. Visit the Quickbase developer portal to use these new APIs.

Enhancements

ODBC Oracle support

In our ODBC channel, there is a new option in the Create row step to include Quote characters. This new option has a default value of MSSQL Server [] and doesn’t impact how existing pipelines work.

For new pipelines, you must:

Update the pipeline agent to the latest version (My preferences > Agent > Step 1: Download agent).
Select ‘’ as the Quote character in a Create row step.

QuickBooks Online enhancements

On October 25, we're adding support for the following QuickBooks Online features: Credit Memo, Update a Bill, and Estimate.

Audit log improvements

We’re continuing to enrich the content and number of events you can track in your audit logs. The following enhancements apply to the Audit Logs page in the Admin Console, CSV export from the same page, and the Audit Log REST API.

User settings changes

We recently added a new event to track user settings changes made on the Users page in the Admin Console. We’ve now added a hyperlink to details about what specific attributes were changed. Any changes to service account assigned users are tracked, too.

Additional events with linked information

The following events now have a link in the description that leads to the respective resource:

Embedded report access
Dashboard access
Table dashboard access
Single and bulk record changes (add, edit, delete record)

Record change events now also contain record ID information.

New resource to view types of audit logs

We’ve created a resource to get more visibility into the types of activities tracked by audit logs. Visit the Audit Log Library to view a list of all audit log actions and see examples of how they appear in Quickbase.

Improved search in pipeline steps

We’ve just released an improved search feature for channels and step resources. You can now specify steps from a specific channel, making the process more intuitive and providing more accurate search results.

Exchange—integrated Smart Builder experience

Can't find the app you're looking for in the Exchange? You'll now have the option to create an app via Smart Builder within the Exchange if your search returns three or fewer results.

Note: Users in accounts that have AI features disabled or users without app creation rights will not be presented with this option.

Open beta

Document Creation generally available by the end of October

Document Creation becomes generally available (GA) on October 31. Until then the feature continues its open beta phase.

This feature allows you to generate documents such as invoices, proposals, and purchase orders directly within your app. It's available to our customers on Business and Enterprise plans. Shortly after Document Creation is GA, we’ll release a free trial experience for our customers on the Team plan.

Since launching our open beta, we’ve added the following capabilities:

Page setup (including margins, page size, and orientation) available in the document builder, instead of needing to be configured in the formula
Header and footer section
Direct link to the example formula in Exchange
The ability to add the current date, page numbers, and number of total pages in source mode for headers and footers
Additional support for UTF-8 when the app switch is on, but realm switch is off

By October 31, the following enhancements will also be available:

Preview, available after you've saved your template
A refined toolbar for the template editor
The current date, page number, and page count buttons in the toolbar for the header and footer

New Quickbase AI features

Access Quickbase AI from the global bar

Using Quickbase AI to streamline your work is now easier than ever. Starting October 15th, you can launch Quickbase AI from the global bar for easier access to Quickbase AI across the platform.

Quickbase AI is a central hub for all AI-driven functionalities within Quickbase. From here, you can:

Generate an app
Build a pipeline
Predict outcomes
Ask questions about your data

Ask Quickbase AI

Ask questions in your own words to streamline the way you search, display data, and create reports using Ask Quickbase AI. Ask Quickbase AI is free to use during open beta starting October 15.

Ask Quickbase AI analyzes your prompt, the structure of table fields, and relevant meta-data (like multiple-choice values) to create a Quickbase query on-the-fly.

Add steps to pipelines using AI Smart Builder

You can now use the AI Smart Builder to add more steps to your pipelines. Simply describe how you'd like to expand your workflow automation in the chat, and our AI will suggest one or more steps to add to the bottom of your pipeline.

Once you add these AI-suggested steps, the pipeline will automatically be disabled until the new steps are fully configured.

Quick Insights

On October 15, you can use Quick Insights to access predictive insights powered by Data Analyzer directly in your apps. To generate insights:

Open the context menu of any checkbox, text, or multi-select field in a table report.
Select the Quick Insights option.
Select the outcome you’d like to predict and Data Analyzer will surface the top six insights.

QBE019859	Document Creation	The Document templates link appeared out of order in the table settings menu in the new sidebar navigation.	The Document templates link now appears above Notifications, subscriptions & reminders as designed.
QBE019875	Apps	In limit cases when builders created URLs with application IDs and invalid parameters (such as a report ID, which is only valid on a table ID), applications may have become unstable.	Invalid parameters no longer cause instability and may either be ignored or return an error.
QBE019863	Custom emails	In Safari and Firefox, the Include report title option didn't always include or exclude the report name from the notification.	The Include report title setting works as expected in all browsers.
