This overview serves to define some terminology and concepts that are used throughout this section.

Document template terms and concepts

• Master record—this term refers to the main record, or parent record, that contains the data from the Quickbase table displayed in the generated document. The formula field used to execute the Exact Forms Plus! tool is typically created in the table that holds the master records. An example of a master record table would be Purchase Orders.

• Related data—this term refers to data that exists in tables outside of the master record's table, connected to the master table through a relationship. Other terms for this include child records or item records. An example of related data would be Purchase Order Details.

• Supporting data—this term refers to data that exists in tables outside of the master record's table but isn't connected to the master table through a relationship. This data can still be included in the document even if a relationship doesn't exist.
