Documents can be stored in a file attachment field in Quickbase.
Documents can be stored in an Amazon S3 bucket. A download link is provided for viewing or downloading documents stored in Amazon S3.
User experience
Exact Forms Plus! includes 2 user experiences that control how your users see the documents as they're created. You can choose which experience to offer your users.
Progress bar view
The status of the document creation process is shown using a progress bar.
The document is viewable only by selecting the file attachment field link or the download from S3 link after the document creation process is complete.
A browser refresh is necessary the first time a document is created for a particular record for the download link to appear.
Why use this experience?
When creating complex documents, it may take a few seconds to complete the process, so this view shows the user the progress of the entire document creation process.
Prevents impatient users from selecting the button repeatedly.
Stream to browser
The document creation process runs in the background without the progress bar display.
Once the document creation process is complete, the document opens in the browser. There is no need to select a link to download the document.
The document can still be stored in a file attachment field and/or Amazon S3.
Why use this experience?
Saves additional clicks needed to view the generated document. For simple documents, the document renders quickly and is presented to the user without having to close the progress bar window, refresh the browser, and then select the download file link.

Integration with other tools
Exact Forms Plus integrates with the following Quickbase extensions:
Amazon S3—To reduce the amount of file attachment storage space your app is consuming.
Courier for Quickbase—To email the Exact Forms Plus generated documents as attachments to your clients and/or business partners.
Triggers for Quickbase—Exact Forms Plus can be triggered to generate a document when some other change takes place on a Quickbase record.
Signatures for Quickbase—Embed the signature captured with Signatures for Quickbase in an Exact Forms Plus document.
DocuSign for Quickbase—Generate a document using Exact Forms Plus and send that document out to be signed using DocuSign for Quickbase.
