The Web Link field shows a web page, PDF, video, or image from a public URL inside the form. This article covers how to add a Web Link field, choose its link, and configure its settings.
How the Web Link field works
A Web Link field gives users quick access to reference content while they fill in the form. For example, it can show a safety manual, an installation video, or a product image.
You choose where the link comes from:
Static: You enter 1 URL, and every user sees the same page
Dynamic: The URL comes from another field in the form, so it can change with the user's answers. For example, a Lookup List can fill in a product image URL for the product the user selects
You can show the page inside the form or open it in a new window in the app.

Add a Web Link field
In the Form Builder, select Add Fields in the side bar.
Under Reference, select Web Link to add it after the selected field. You can also drag it onto the canvas where you want it.

The field appears on the canvas as Web Link Field, and its field settings open on the General tab. A new Web Link field starts with the Dynamic type.

Choose the link
In Field Label, enter the name users see, for example Safety Manual.
Under Web Link Settings, select a Type.
For a Static link, enter the address in URL, for example https://www.example.com.
For a Dynamic link, enter the field key of the field that holds the URL in Field Key.

Choose how the page opens
By default, the page shows inside the form.
To set how much of the screen the page takes up, drag the Height (%) slider. The default is 33%.
To open the page in a new window in the app instead, turn on Open In New Window. Then enter Hint Text to tell users what the link opens.
Configure the field
Use the General and Behavior tabs in Field Settings to control how the field works. A Web Link field doesn't collect an answer, so it has fewer settings than other fields.
Tab | Setting | What it does |
|---|---|---|
General | Field Label | The name users see on the form |
General | Field Key | The key that identifies the field in submissions, rules, and calculations |
General | Type | Static uses 1 URL you enter. Dynamic uses the URL in another field |
General | URL | The address of the page. Shows only for a Static link |
General | Field Key (Web Link Settings) | The field key of the field that holds the URL. Shows only for a Dynamic link |

Select Save Draft to save your changes. Users see them after you select Publish.
Add the field with the Assistant
You can also ask the Assistant to add a Web Link field.
Select Assistant in the side bar.
Describe what you want, for example Add a Web Link field called Safety Manual after Description that opens https://www.example.com.
Send the message.

When you include a URL, the Assistant sets the Type to Static and fills in the URL. To open the page in a new window or change its height, use Field Settings.
Note
Assistant changes aren't saved until you select Save Draft.
