With the new Quickbase Document Creation process, we can now offer our current Exact Forms Plus customers the ability to embed charts or graphs within their EF+ Word document templates. Follow these steps to add a chart or graph.
Create a document template with charts or graphs
Create a new document template in the new Quickbase Document Creation section, and add the charts or graphs you want to the template.
In this example, we added a template record (ID #5) to the library and named it Multiple Graphs and Charts.
Embed charts or graphs in the template
Select the new record within the Quickbase Document Creation editor, and embed objects from your table, like charts or graphs. You can add as many as needed. Along with adding the report objects, place a tag highlighted in yellow, in the format ID: ##, where ## is the actual Quickbase report ID. You can find the report ID under the table settings, as shown in Image 2.

Add tilde notation for the chart or graph
Add our standard tilde (~) notation to your Exact Forms Plus Microsoft Word document template stored within your Document Templates table.
For example, use this wherever you want to embed the chart or graph: ~=Chart:5:78:300~
Syntax explanation within the tilde (~):
The word Chart is reserved for our process to know where to embed the related object—created as a report type Chart, as shown in the following image.
After the word Chart, specify a separator :. The next value is the Document Template ID from the Document Templates section, shown in the template record image earlier in this article. In this example, it's 5.
Then specify another separator :. The third positional parameter, 78, stands for the ID of the chart or graph defined in Image 1 from the previous step.
Finally, the fourth positional parameter is for the width of the chart or graph in pixels—for example, 300.
Note
The charts and graphs don't filter based on the record you're generating the document for. We've identified this issue with Quickbase and are looking into a resolution. In the meantime, these reports run with their current filters.
