Use the Document Subtables table to stamp your data in precise locations

Go to the Document Template record you want to stamp the data onto. In the PDF Stamping Details section, select the Add Document Subtable button to add new data to be stamped.

The Add Document Subtable form has three sections:

  • PDF Template—Document Template Name (required) is the template record this stamp belongs to. The template's Master table dbid is displayed next to it, followed by an Is Fillable checkbox. See the fillfid parameter in PDF Stamper formula URL parameters.

  • PDF Stamping Settings—the fields described below.

  • PDF Subtables—the settings and Template Reference fields, used only when you include related records in a table. See Include related data with subtables.

Document Subtable fields

Field

Required

Description

Label

No

A name to describe what this is stamping.

Type to be stamped

Yes

Determines how the data is stamped:

  • Text—stamps the field value, or the static text you enter, as text.

  • Image—stamps an image. Use Image Width and Image Height to set its size. See Download image from link below.

  • Barcode—generates a barcode from the field value and stamps it as an image.

  • HTML—renders the HTML in a rich text field and stamps the result at the X and Y position.

Associated Field ID

Yes if you don’t use Text to be stamped.

If you want to pull data from the record, enter that field's field ID here. For a date field, you can put a D in front of the field ID, for example D21. The D marks the field as a date and isn't part of the field ID—PDF Stamper reads field 21. The D is optional: date, date/time, and time of day fields are formatted as dates automatically.

Page Number

Yes

Specifies which pages to stamp the data onto. (You may need to change the field type from numeric to text.) See the table below for the values you can enter.

X Position

Yes

Space from the left side of the page, in points.

Y Position

Yes

Space from the top of the page, in points. To figure out what the X and Y values should be, see Find X and Y coordinates with Adobe Acrobat.

Text to be stamped

Yes if you don’t use Associated Field ID

If you are not displaying data from a field, you can type in the static text value you want stamped.

Text Align

No

Determines the alignment of the text being stamped: Left, Center, Right, or Justify.

Font Type

No

Determines which font is used for the stamped text. If you leave it blank, Arial is used.

Font Size

No

Determines the size of the text being displayed. If you leave it blank, size 12 is used.

Font Color

No

Determines the color of the text being stamped, for example, Black, Red, Blue, or Yellow.

Use Hex Code for Font Color and Font Color Hex Code

No

These columns appear in the Document Subtable list. Choose the color with Font Color.

Font Style

No

Determines the style of the font: Regular, Bold, Italic, Underline, or Strikeout.

Image Width and Image Height

No

The size of the stamped image. These columns appear in the Document Subtable list for the template.

No

Applies to the Image type. When selected, the value of the Associated Field is treated as a link to an image, or as a rich text value that contains an image link, and the image is downloaded from that link. The link must end in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .tif, .tiff, .png, .wmf, or .jif, or be a link to a file attachment in Quickbase. When cleared, the Associated Field is a file attachment field on the record, and the image is downloaded from the attachment.

Page Number values

You can enter a specific page number, a range, or a combination, separated by commas.
