User tokens explained

Prev Next

Quickbase user tokens were implemented to provide users a secure method to run API calls and automations with your permission. Our Quickbase Extensions take advantage of user tokens because of their benefits, capabilities, and security.

These benefits include:

  • Their scope of allowable action is limited to the apps you assign the user token to

  • You can unassign a user token from an app

  • The user token can't be used to log in to your Quickbase account through the user interface

  • You can see when a user token was last used

  • You can deactivate a user token temporarily or delete it if you suspect your app's security has been compromised

Note

We have modified all of our extensions to utilize user tokens. To receive the increased benefits, you must provide us with a user token assigned to all of the apps that our extensions are installed within.
