How to control access to different navigation experiences

Prev Next

On May 8, all users will see navigation options in user preferences by default. However, account admins control access to the feature. If you don’t want users to change their default navigation experience, turn off navigation options for your users.

  1. Go to the Admin Console.

  2. Go to the Permissions page

  3. Turn off Show navigation options in user preferences.

See Updates to Quickbase navigation for instructions on how to access navigation options in user preferences.

Sidebar navigation and EOTI

Everyone on the Internet (EOTI) users do not have access to user preferences. They will always see the default navigation experience.

See New sidebar navigation rollout plan and timeline for more information.

Multi-account realms

Some realms may have multiple accounts. Here's what to expect in this situation:

  • The navigation options are available in user preferences if they have been turned on by an account admin for any accounts in the realm

If users are part of multiple accounts within the realm:

  • In apps, users will see the navigation preference they selected for the account that app is associated with

  • For pages outside of an app, like the My Apps page, users will see the preference they set in their default account within the realm
