Customize the app access denied message

Prev Next

By default, users who don’t have permission to access your app are shown the following message when attempting to access it: You don’t have access to this Quickbase app or one of its tables. To gain access, contact the app manager or select Request access.

App admins can customize this message to provide more specific instructions, such as who to contact for access or which internal process to follow.

Customize the message

To customize the access denied message for an app:

  1. Go to App settings > Branding.

  2. In the Custom app messages section next to App access denied, type your custom message in the text box.
Include guidance such as who to contact and how to request access.

  3. Choose whether to hide or show the Request access button to users.
When shown, this button allows users to send an app access request email to the app manager. Hide it if it does not match your organization’s preferred process for requesting access.

Message limitations

When writing your message, keep the following limits in mind:

  • Format—plain text only

  • Length—600 characters maximum
