The Multi Photo field lets users take or upload several photos in one field. This article covers how to add a Multi Photo field and configure its settings.
How the Multi Photo field works
A Multi Photo field shows a button that opens the camera or the photo library. Users add as many photos as the job needs, such as several angles of damage. Each photo is saved with the submission.
For example, a work order can ask technicians for photos of the site before and after a repair.

To capture only one photo, use the Single Photo field instead.
Add a Multi Photo field
In the Form Builder, select Add Fields in the side bar.
Under Multimedia, select Multi Photo to add it after the selected field. You can also drag it onto the canvas where you want it.

The field appears on the canvas as Multi Photo Field, and its field settings open on the General tab.
Choose how users add photos
In Field Label, enter the name users see, for example Site Photos.
Turn on Allow Camera, Allow Photo Library, or both. A new field allows only the camera.
In Quality, select the photo quality. Higher quality makes larger files.
To let users draw on their photos, turn on Allow Annotation.

To record where each photo was taken, turn on Allow GPS Tagging. Learn more about GPS tagging with the Multi Photo field.
Important
Field Settings shows a limit of 500 photos per submission. Large submissions take longer to upload, especially on a weak connection, and can cause workflows, reports, and downloads to fail. Ask users to keep the app open until all photos finish uploading.
Add a caption or timestamp to photos
You can place text on top of each photo, such as an asset number, along with the date and time.
Add a Text field for the caption, and note its field key, for example alpha_1.
In the Multi Photo field settings, enter that key in Photo Overlay Field Key.
To add the date and time, turn on Photo Overlay Date/Time Stamp.
Users must enter the caption before they take the photo. The overlay works only on photos taken with the camera in the app, not photos from the library.
To give downloaded photos a clear name, enter a name in Image Name. You can include field keys wrapped in $, for example $repairType$ photo.

If your account has AI Photo Insights, the Behavior tab also shows an AI Photo Insights button for this field.
Select Save Draft to save your changes. Users see them after you select Publish.
Set up the field with the Assistant
You can also ask the Assistant to add a Multi Photo field and set how users add photos.
Select Assistant in the side bar.
Describe what you want, for example Add a multi photo field called Site Photos after Description that allows the camera and the photo library.
Send the message.

The Assistant can turn the camera, photo library, annotation, and GPS settings on or off, and make the field required. It may also change the photo quality and turn on annotation, so check the field settings afterward.
Note
Assistant changes aren't saved until you select Save Draft.
