Generate Microsoft Word or PDF documents from your Quickbase app

Exact Forms Plus! is an extension designed to generate Microsoft Word or PDF documents right from your Quickbase app. Native Quickbase Exact Forms provides you with the ability to generate dynamic HTML-based documents. Exact Forms Plus! allows you to create persistent, point-and-time-based Microsoft Word or PDF documents.

Highlights of Exact Forms Plus!

  • There are no macros to download or install—use your version of Microsoft Word as-is to create your document templates.

  • Mac users: as long as you can create a .doc or .docx file from your Mac, you can use Exact Forms Plus!

  • Create password-protected Word/PDF documents

  • We use concepts similar to Exact Forms within the template building process—for example, you reference data to be displayed in the document as: ~3~ or ~Record ID#~   To view a sample Microsoft Word template, select the sample template.

  • Take advantage of Quickbase application tokens. If you want to increase the security of your apps but you're having trouble setting up native Exact Forms to work with tokens, switch to Exact Forms Plus! and turn Application Tokens on within your Quickbase app, then pass the token as a URL parameter.

  • Create a persistent Word document or PDF document instead of a dynamic HTML page

  • You can choose to have the utility save these documents to a Quickbase file attachment field or to an alternate web-based data storage repository such as Amazon S3

  • Allows for Word headers and footers to be used in your documents

  • Insert images right into your document templates without having to upload them to a Quickbase table and link to them

  • Allows for better control and formatting of data from your related tables. Specify how wide each column should be, Bold/Underline/Italicize data, change font style and size for each cell, override the column name, change the table header color...and more.

  • Append additional PDF files to the PDF file generated by Exact Forms Plus!

  • Handles text fields with embedded HTML

  • Multi-Record Transactions—Create multiple documents in 1 transaction. Pass in a Quickbase query that returns multiple records, and we'll create multiple documents, one for each record returned, and we'll attach each individual document to its related Quickbase record.

  • Merged PDF—Create a single Merged PDF document when running Multi-Record Transactions

  • Batch Processing—Although you can generate multiple documents in a single transaction as described in "Multi-Record Transactions", we do limit the number of documents that can be generated to 50 per transaction. When you need to generate more than 50 documents in a single transaction, your app can be configured to use our Batch Processing functionality. (now included in your Exact Forms Plus subscription) For more information about setup, submit a technical support case.
