Build a pipeline with Quickbase AI

Prev Next

Use Quickbase AI to build pipelines to automate your workflow. Describe your workflow in your own words as you would if you were explaining it to a member of your team, and Quickbase AI will create steps for your pipeline using generative AI.

Build a pipeline with Quickbase AI

You can find Quickbase AI in the global navigation bar.

From the global bar, open Quickbase AI and then select Build a pipeline.
Build a pipeline option in the Quickbase AI global bar menu

To build a pipeline:

  1. Describe your workflow in the text field using your natural language as though you're explaining it to a human. Include details about triggers, actions, and channels. For example, you can say something like:
When a new record is added to the Estimates table in the Preconstruction app, send a Slack message to this channel team-preconstruction, then create a task in the Follow-up tasks table.
Learn more about writing effective descriptions of your workflow for Quickbase AI.

  2. Select Send. Quickbase AI responds with a preview of steps for your pipeline.

  3. Make changes to the steps, or select Yes, build it to build your pipeline. This builds the pipeline and then opens it in the Pipelines Designer.

Note: Use the feedback button to share your feedback on Quickbase AI's response.

Make changes to your pipeline steps

To make changes to the pipeline steps in Quickbase AI's response:

  1. Describe what you want to change in your natural language. Quickbase AI responds with an updated list of pipeline steps.

  2. Select Yes, build it to configure your new pipeline on the canvas in Pipelines Designer.

Add steps to a pipeline

Use Quickbase AI to add new steps to existing pipelines. To add steps:

  1. Go to the pipeline you're editing, and open the Pipelines Designer.

  2. Open Quickbase AI.

  3. Describe what you want to change in your natural language. Quickbase AI responds with a list of pipeline steps.

  4. Select Add steps to add the steps to the pipeline. This adds the new steps to the end of the pipeline. From here, you need to configure the steps.

Remember that any time a pipeline is edited, it is paused. Don't forget to turn your pipeline on when you're done making changes.
