Note
This article does not apply to Quickbase accounts created after April 15, 2026. For these accounts, grid reports are the only table report type available and are already turned on by default.
Turn grid reports on or off for any app by going to App settings > App properties > Advanced settings. When on, grid reports are used by everyone in the app.
While legacy table report versions remain available for you to use, only grid reports receive continued full support. Support for legacy table reports is limited to critical security and bug fixes. Learn more about features with limited support.
Before turning on grid reports
When you turn on grid reports, your existing roles and permissions are fully respected. If someone doesn’t have edit rights in a given table or permission to access legacy grid edit today, those same rules apply for grid reports. However, you may want to adjust some settings beforehand (like row height and column widths) to ensure the best experience for you and your users. Learn about how to prepare your app to use grid reports.
Turn on grid reports
To turn grid reports on for your app:
Open your app and select App settings > App properties.
Go to Advanced settings > Table report version > Use grid reports in this app and choose from the following options:
Yes—turns it on
No—turns it off
Default—uses the default report version for this app, depending on when the app was created:
After October 2025 = grid reports
Before October 2025 = legacy table reports
Indicate whether you would like to show users a toggle at the top of grid reports to go back to using legacy table reports.
Save these settings.
