About the Email Options tab

Available to: all roles, when your company has the QB Courier extension.

On the Email Options tab you choose who the email comes from and who receives it. You can also pick a field that Courier updates after it sends. The tab has two panels: Sending Email Options on the left and Email Options on the right. See Create or edit a configuration.

Option

What happens

Use qbcourier@quickbasetools.com

Courier sends from its shared sender address. This is the default for new configurations.

Use your own mailserver

Courier sends through one of your mail servers, which you pick in Mail server.

When you pick a different option, the configurator asks Are you sure you want to change sending email option? Select Yes. The change is saved right away, and you see Email Status updated!

With Use your own mailserver, you also see:

  • Mail server (required): the mail servers you've added, shown as server - display name. To add one, see Mail servers.

  • Mail server display name field (optional): a field whose value is shown as the sender's name, instead of the mail server's email address.

  • Email address field: shown only when the selected mail server is set to send from an email address on the record. Pick the field that holds that address.

  1. Check Copy email from related table.

  2. In Related table, pick a child table of the configuration's table. If the table isn't related, you see Please select a table that is related.

  3. In Selected field, pick the field that stores the email addresses.

  4. Optionally, enter Query criteria to choose which child records to use, for example {'8'.EX.'Yes'}.

For each emailed record, Courier adds the addresses from all of its matching child records.
