Installation wizard messages and troubleshooting

Prev Next

This article lists the messages you can see in the Quickbase Extensions installation wizard, grouped by where they appear, with the cause and what to do for each. Messages are quoted exactly as they appear on screen, so you can search this page for the text you see. It ends with answers to common questions. For how the wizard works, see the installation wizard overview.

How messages appear

  • On a step. If something on a step needs fixing, the wizard stays on that step and shows a message in a red banner. Fix what it says and select Next (or Finish) again. Your app isn't changed until you select Finish on the last step.

  • On the error page. If the wizard can't continue at all, it replaces the step with an error page that reads Sorry! It looks like we've ran into an error!, sometimes a line that describes the problem, and Error Code: followed by a code. See Error page codes.

Usertokens are at least 34 Characters in length.

Shown under the text box while you type: what you entered is too short to be a user token.

Paste the full token.

The User Token provided has no access to <realm>., followed by a line about contacting support

Check that the token hasn't been deleted or regenerated in Quickbase and that it belongs to a user in your company's realm. Then try again, or use another token.

The User Token provided has no access to any apps in <realm>. Please use a different token with access, or add thedesired apps to the selected token and try again.

Please select an app.

No app was chosen in the app grid.

The token's user can't see any tables in the app.

Give that user access to the app's tables in Quickbase, or go back and choose a different token.

The usertoken selected does not have permissions to create tables in the selected app. <extension> needs permissions to create tables in order to continue the setup.

The extension adds tables, and the token's user can't create them.

Give the token's user permission to create tables in the app, or choose a token for a user who has it.

The usertoken selected does not have permissions to create fields in the <table> table. <extension> needs permissions to create fields in order to continue the setup.

Upgrade not available for <app> - it does not have required tables for upgrade. Please proceed with the normal setup for this application.

You checked Upgrade Setup, but the app doesn't have the extension's tables.

Uncheck Upgrade Setup and continue with a normal setup.

EZ File Importer only: the app already has its tables. It can be set up once per app from the wizard.

Check that you chose the right app.

This application does not currently have any of our Document Generation add-ons installed. Please install one of our Document Generation add-ons before attempting to install Package Builder.

Frequently asked questions

The app I want isn't in the list on Application information. Why?

The list shows only the apps the user token from Authorization can access. Select Previous and choose a different token, or give the token's user access to the app in Quickbase and open the wizard again. See Application information.

I got Error Code 900.0. What happened?

The wizard times out after 20 minutes without activity, and your next click shows error 900.0. Your app hasn't been changed. Close the window and open the wizard again from the Extensions Portal. Refreshing the window also starts over from the first step.

I got Error Code 200.1 and no other detail. What now?

Error 200.1 means the wizard hit an unexpected error. Run the wizard again. If you saw it after you selected Finish, the wizard may already have added some tables or fields before it stopped, so check your app before you run it again. If it happens again, submit a technical support case and include the error code, the extension, and the step you were on.

Why does the wizard say my token can't create tables or fields?

Most extensions add tables or fields to your app, so the user token's user needs permission to create them. Give that user the permission in Quickbase, or go back to Authorization and choose a token for a user who has it, for example an app admin. See Application information step.

How do I set up the extension on a second table?

In the Extensions Portal, open the extension's page and select Setup Table on the app's row in the list of authorized applications. The wizard skips Authorization and Application information and starts at the extension's own steps, using the token on file for the app. See Setup Table. EZ File Importer can be set up only once per app.

Why doesn't the extension work in a copy of my app?

A copy is a new app, so it has to be authorized for the extension. Select Authorize New App on the extension's page, choose a token and the copy, check Authorize Only No Setup Required on Application information, and select Finish. The wizard authorizes the copy without changing it. See Authorize only.

Why don't I see Upgrade Setup or Authorize Only No Setup Required?

Both are on Application information, which Setup Table skips. Open the wizard with Setup or Authorize New App instead. Upgrade Setup appears only for XL Docs and JuicedSign.

How do I close the wizard if there's no Close button?

Select the X in the corner of the wizard's window. The wizard changes your app only when you select Finish, so closing it earlier leaves your app unchanged.

Why doesn't the Execute … Batch button work in an app that requires application tokens?

With Single Document Generation, the wizard doesn't show the Application Token step, so the Execute EFP Batch, Execute XL Docs Batch, or Execute PDF Stamper Batch button it creates has an empty apptoken= in its formula. Add your application token to that line of the field's formula. See Single document generation: add the token yourself.

How do I connect my company's Docusign account?

Docusign for Quickbase sends documents from your company's own Docusign account, and the wizard doesn't ask for it. Your Client Admin connects it in the Extensions Portal, under Client Credentials → DocuSign, ideally before running the wizard. See Docusign Setup, Before you start.

Why does the finish screen say to look out for an email from our team?

For extensions with no setup steps, such as Text My QB and Image Resizer/Rotator, the finish screen reads Keep a lookout for an email from our team. We'll be reaching out to you at <email address> with the next steps as soon as possible. No email is sent. Continue with the extension's documentation. See What Next does.

The user token I used was deleted or regenerated. Do I run the wizard again?

No. The extension keeps using the token on file for the app, and a Client Admin can replace it in Client Credentials. If you do run the wizard again for an app that's already authorized, the token you choose replaces the one on file for that app.
